Why the Desert Changes the Spec
Orientation decides how a window performs here as much as the glass does. A west-facing opening carries the full weight of the afternoon sun; a north-facing one rarely sees it. The same unit can read completely differently depending on which wall it sits in.
Radiant heat through glass is the part homeowners feel first, and it is measured by a specific number on every window's label — SHGC. In the Mojave, with long, direct afternoon sun on west and south exposures, that number carries more weight in day-to-day comfort than in most other climates. Do you work in occupied homes, or only new construction?
Both. Most of this line's work is replacement in occupied homes; we also install in new construction, working from the framing stage.
